About me

This life thing is crazy.

I am many things – a wife, a mother, a daughter, an instructional designer, a project manager, an accountant, an artist, an animal lover, a runner, an event planner, and oh, so many more!

I bet you could write a similar sentence about yourself. What makes us all unique and connected at the same time is that we are all so many things, with many relationships, and many goals and interests. But we all want to be HAPPY and HEALTHY.

I love food and I love healthy living. I also love helping people find their way to their happier, healthier life.

Before I became a health coach, I found myself giving advice to all the people in my life who would listen. I had a need to spread all that I had learned about being healthier and making better choices. It seemed only natural that I further educate myself on these topics so that I could help others even more.

My Journey

I have always been conscious of what I was eating and exercised regularly, mainly to maintain my weight, but regardless, it was on my radar. However, I was never concerned about the quality of my food or eating lots of vegetables. I ate lots of packaged, processed foods, white flour, sugar, etc.

After I had my oldest son, I started learning some about food but I hadn’t changed my diet too much. After my husband got some bad news from the doctor and a big scare, things changed.

It was all the motivation we needed. From that moment on, we visited the farmers market weekly and greatly increased the number of fruits and vegetables we ate, we got more active and started learning about food, healthy food. We visited websites, tried new recipes, and watched documentaries.

It has been a continual journey into gardening, vegetarian/vegan cooking, raw foods, organic foods, herbalism, and so much more!

My Training

I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition‘s Health Coach Training Program.

During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
